Combining Tantric & Kundalini Bodywork
1. Goal: Release Sexual Shame and Cultivate Sensuality
Tantric Practice:
Circular Breathing with Pelvic Focus: Lie down and place one hand on your heart and the other on your lower abdomen. Inhale deeply through the nose, filling your belly, and exhale slowly through the mouth. Visualize energy rising from the pelvis to your heart.
Optional Touch: Lightly run your fingertips along your arms or legs to awaken body awareness.
Integration Tip: Whisper affirmations like "I embrace my pleasure" or "My body is sacred."
Kundalini Integration:
Mula Bandha (Root Lock): After several minutes of breathwork, contract the muscles of the pelvic floor while holding your breath after an inhale. Visualize energy spiraling upward through your spine.
This combination allows for emotional release while subtly channeling energy upward for balance.
2. Goal: Emotional Release and Healing Past Trauma
Kundalini Practice:
Breath of Fire: Sit in a comfortable position with your spine straight. Begin rapid, rhythmic breathing through the nose (equal inhale and exhale). Focus on releasing stagnant energy. Continue for 1 to 3 minutes.
Mantra: Chant "Sat Nam" as you breathe to create a calming rhythm.
Tantric Integration:
Sound and Movement Release: Stand up and shake your body vigorously for 2-3 minutes while vocalizing any sounds that arise (sighs, moans, or even shouts). Finish by placing your hands on your heart and breathing slowly.
The breathwork activates energy release, while the movement and sound help to discharge lingering emotions from the body.
3. Goal: Spiritual Awakening and Deep Meditation
Kundalini Practice:
Kundalini Kriya for Energy Ascension: Sit in a cross-legged position. Inhale, sweep your arms above your head, and exhale while bringing them back down. Repeat for 2-5 minutes.
Visualization: Imagine golden energy spiraling up your spine and exiting through the crown of your head.
Tantric Integration:
Heart-Opening Breath: Place your hands on your chest and breathe deeply into the heart space. Visualize the energy from your spine radiating outward through your chest.
Combining structured Kundalini kriyas with Tantric heart-focused breath creates both vertical (ascending) and horizontal (expansive) energy flow.
4. Goal: Balancing Sexual and Spiritual Energies
Tantric Practice:
Sensual Energy Movement: Sit on the floor in a relaxed position. Begin slow, circular hip movements while breathing deeply. Focus on awakening energy in the pelvic region.
Optional Partner Practice: If comfortable, synchronize breath and movements with a partner for connection.
Kundalini Integration:
Spinal Flex: While seated, inhale as you push your chest forward and exhale as you round your spine backward. Do this for 2-3 minutes to help move energy up the spine.
This blend grounds sexual energy while guiding it toward a spiritual focus.
Tips for Combining Both Approaches:
Set Intentions: Always begin by clarifying what you want to achieve—emotional release, spiritual awakening, or sensual embodiment.
Alternate Techniques: Use dynamic Kundalini practices first to awaken energy, then follow with gentle Tantric breathing or movement to integrate the experience.
Balance Structure and Flow: Kundalini provides structure, while Tantra invites fluidity. Don't be afraid to blend these approaches intuitively.
Create a Sacred Space: Light candles, play music, and use essential oils to set a calming atmosphere.
